INITIAL PLANNING CONFERENCE #SIQUAKE2020
4. 12. 2019The Initial Planning Conference #SIQUAKE2020 took place from 26 to 28 November 2019 in Slovenia. The conference was devoted to all representatives of national organisations and units that will actively participate at the conduction of the Full Scale Exercise #SIQUAKE2020 FSX, and Table Top Exercise #SIQUAKE2020 TTX, as well as to international representatives of foreign organisations and units predicted to participate.
The main objective of the Initial Planning Conference was to discuss exercise organization, from its structure and participation, scenario, communication plan, Host Nation Support (HNS), observers programme to the identified exercise locations. Moreover, Slovenian and foreign participants were given the opportunity to present their capabilities, exercise objectives and expectations.
The conference was divided in three parts:
The first part was dedicated to the representatives of Slovenian organizations participating at the FSX #SIQUAKE2020. The FSX #SIQUAKE2020 will take place from 25 to 29 May 2020 and represents the central and leading event in the project framework. Initial Planning Conference set grounds for future cooperation, early planning, preparation and successful implementation of the exercise, which could represent some benefit and fulfil expectations of all participating bodies.
At the second part of the Initial Planning Conference in the afternoon, the concept of the #SIQUAKE2020 TTX was presented for the representatives of government and other institutions participating at the TTX, which will take place in the week from 7 to 13 February 2020. The participants were introduced to anticipated scale of inclusion and organisational tasks, as well as all the activities that will take place before and during the Table Top Exercise. The exercise scenario, modes of communication and exercise outcomes were presented in detail.
The third part of the Initial Planning Conference was dedicated to the international participants of the Full Scale Exercise #SIQUAKE2020 FSX, which will be participating at the exercise. The international part of the event was concluded on Thursday 28 November 2019 with consortium partners meeting.
The overall aim of the Initial Planning Conference was to gain basic information from the participants on the scope and modes of their involvement in the exercise, and, according to the information exchanged, to develop the framework of further cooperation and exercise preparation process (working sites, base of operations, logistical support, host nation support etc.)
The Initial Planning Conference will be followed by the Final Planning Conference #SIQUAKE2020, that is scheduled for mid-Mach 2020.
