Table Top Exercise #SIQUAKE2020 TTX

As part of the #SIQUAKE2020 project and the preparation for a Full Scale Exercise, #SIQUAKE2020 Table Top Exercise will be organized between 4 and 7 February 2020.

The Slovenian part of the #SIQUAKE2020 TTX will be performed on Tuesday, 4 February 2020, and will be attended by the local community with 32 Central Slovenian municipalities, the Government of the Republic of Slovenia, ministries, government agencies, state-owned companies and institutes, Administration for Civil Protection and Disaster Relief – ACPDR and civil protection commanders and headquarters on all levels. About 50 participants to the exercise will check the adequacy of National Protection and Rescue Plan in the event of an earthquake, internal operational plans, Union Civil Protection Mechanism (UCPT) procedures, international disaster response coordination and host nation support in the event of an international assistance. Exercise will be conducted remotely, on the participants’ locations. Following the exercise, a concluding event will be held on Friday, 7 February 2020, with the discussion on the response and experiences of Slovenian participants.

The international part of the #SIQUAKE2020 TTX will be held during the same period on Wednesday, February 5 2020. It will include the response to the Government of Republic of Slovenia’s request for international assistance by the civil protection headquarters or emergency response centers within UCPT members.

The objective of the #SIQUAKE2020 TTX is to test the response capacities of the civil protection system in the event of a major earthquake in Central Slovenia, in accordance with the National Protection and Rescue Plan in the event of an earthquake and to launch a request for international assistance through Union Civil Protection Mechanism and simulate assistance coordination.
